about me

I have been working as an occupational therapist for almost 20 years specializing in the area of mental health and wellness. I started out my career in the hospital setting working with individuals experiencing mental health difficulties in the acute care and day hospital settings. With experience under my belt, I moved into community health care providing rehabilitation to individuals within a range of supported housing and case management teams. Over the last few years, I have had the opportunity to work with individuals experiencing physical and mental workplace injuries, with those on long term disability claims, and with injured veterans. I have years of experience working with individuals to improve their function, wellness, quality of life and to meet their goals in the context of experiencing mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, chronic pain, concussion, chronic illness, and burnout.

My approach to rehabilitation and treatment is based on the principles of psychosocial recovery. Everyone has the potential for growth and recovery. Everyone benefits from social connections, meaningful work, enjoyable activities, belonging, and community. I believe everyone is on their own journey and my role is to walk alongside during times of challenge to help find their path.

I am a life long learner with many interests including mindful self-compassion, nervous system regulation, sensory regulation, neuroplasticity, resilience, and trauma. The stack of books in the 'to be read' pile is high!

My happy places are at the beach, in the garden, in the forest or reading a book with a cat on my lap.
